Sober October for Science Park director
It’s been a sober few weeks for Innovation Centre director Richard Pitkin. He has raised more than £1,200 for Macmillan Cancer Support after giving up alcohol for the whole of October as part of the charity’s Go Sober campaign.
Richard has joined forces with his family to form Pitkin Prohibition and the team is at number 23 in the Macmillan Cancer Support’s national ranking table, which ranks teams according to the amount of money raised.
Richard said: “I’ve been given a well deserved bottle of wine by my Science Park colleagues which I will be tucking into tomorrow!
“The long weekend in France towards the end of the month really tested my resolve and was where I really earned my sponsorship.
“Thanks go to everyone who has donated to the cause.”
