Science Park chief executive awarded OBE

18.06.12

Bonnie Dean, chief executive of Bristol & Bath Science Park has been awarded an OBE for services to Design, Technology and Innovation.

The design of the buildings and use of design within the space has made a substantial contribution to the success of the first buildings at the Science Park.

Prior to her current role, Bonnie has worked predominantly in the engineering industry where it is vital to invest in research, development and innovation to survive and prosper. She was a trustee of the Design Council for six years and was highly involved in a program to introduce design into early stage technology companies that helped accelerate their access to markets and customers.

On hearing of her OBE Bonnie Dean said:

“I am honoured and delighted. It is particularly special to receive it during the Diamond Jubilee Year. The UK excels in design, technology and innovation. As a result of our strengths in these areas, the UK and the South West in particular has the potential to launch new industries which could bring decades of growth and create new jobs. It has been a privilege to work in three areas about which I am passionate."
