Bristol & Bath Science Park at Venturefest Bristol 2012
A virtual reality cow and super-lightweight aeroplane were some of the innovations, showcased at Venturefest Bristol 2012, organised by Science City Bristol which is based at Bristol & Bath Science Park.
The one-day event brought together new technology and innovation-based business ideas with potential funding and support.
It was hosted by one of the Park’s key partners, UWE, at its Conference Centre.
The keynote speakers were Iain Gray, Chief Executive of the Technology Strategy Board, Caroline Taylor from IBM and local entrepreneur Steve Allpress from Nvidia, a world leader in visual computing technology.
Bonnie Dean, chief executive of Bristol & Bath Science Park said:
‘It was a very successful day. We had significant feedback from the companies attending, including some of the Science Park’s tenants, that they were able to make an unexpectedly high number of useful connections to other businesses and to potential funders. Congratulations to Science City Bristol for organising the event.’
Bristol and Bath Science Park hosted the first Venturefest Bristol 2011 shortly after opening in September 2011.
