Science Park teams up with UK Green Building Council at sustainability event
More than 70 people gathered this week (November 1, 2011) to hear about how sustainability runs throughout the design and ethos of the Bristol & Bath Science Park.
Bonnie Dean, chief executive of the Park, joined Paul King, chief executive of the UK Green Building Council, Robert Knight from igloo Regeneration and Kevin Hibbs from Vinci Construction to explore the importance of sustainability in the built environment.
Issues up for discussion included how the science park is working to embed itself in the local community and the ways in which the project is taking its environmental responsibilities seriously – from its waste strategy during construction to low carbon technologies and smart building management systems.
The Sustainable Business Breakfast event is a monthly event organised by IMS Consulting and is aimed at anyone who has an interest is sustainability or for those wanting to learn about best practice.
